Why internationally mobile clients need a different kind of lender
Our Founder and CEO, Matt Watson, was delighted to be invited to speak at a recent gathering hosted by Swen Lorenz, renowned investor and founder of undervalued-shares.com, on the island of Sark. The weekend brought together 24 guests, most of them involved in investing, whether in a personal capacity or as part of their role at a fund or multi-family office.
Matt's talk, "How to work with a High Net Worth Eco-System", looked at a challenge that would have been familiar to many in the room. Mainstream finance providers are struggling to provide solutions to increasingly internationally mobile clients.
Matt cited the example of a Canadian entrepreneur with assets held at a UK bank, who wants to use those assets as collateral to buy a property in Spain, and needs to move at short notice.
As Matt put it: "That is exactly the kind of gap Tenn was built to fill. Our firm can provide its clients with flexible capital in whatever currency, in whatever jurisdiction, applying whatever structure, against whatever assets you have."
Matt also shared the story behind Tenn. It was a reminder to the room that any new firm, and any new idea, takes perseverance to get off the ground and helped highlight Guernsey's growing profile as a home for start-ups and fintech businesses.
Our thanks go to Swen for his generous hospitality, and to everyone who joined us on Sark for such a thoughtful conversation.
