Mike Jones has joined the team at Tenn with a clear vision: make Tenn Capital the first name on everyone’s lips when it comes to UK and European short term finance.

As he starts his role as Chief Sales Officer, Mike’s ambition is strong, his passion clear, and his focus unwavering.

“First and foremost, I will aim to get Tenn’s name a higher profile… in fact, the highest profile.” he says.

“There are something like 400 lenders in our market and 350 or more do exactly the same thing. The others may have slight variations. And then there’s Tenn; Tenn is completely different. We need – and I need especially – to highlight why that is and why we should be the lender of choice.”

The prospect of promoting Tenn’s USPs made his decision to take on the role a straightforward one.

“Matt [Watson] and I were introduced by a mutual contact. We discussed the role over lunch, and it took me very little time to decide that this would be the ideal next step in my career. In previous roles I had hit plateaus professionally and personally; I knew I needed more. I recognised that there was something special here.

“It was very apparent that what Tenn has here is different. They have a high quality of expertise and experience across a broad spectrum. The potential is huge.”

Mike has a wealth of experience in the short-term finance sector. He joins from Reim Capital, where he was Sales Director. Prior to that, he was Chief Sales Officer at PropFin. His earlier career included spells as Director of Sales for London and the South-East at Alternative Bridging Corporation, and as a BDM at De Lage Landen and Cheval Property Finance.

“I have many names and numbers and will be making contact with them to discuss the ways in which Tenn can provide short term lending solutions. I’ll start with a branding awareness campaign – though people will know of Tenn, so it won’t be completely cold-calling.

“Strategically, I’ll be looking at contacting brokers who have HNWIs. I already have a core broker list in my mind, and I’ll be targeting them first. But I’m sure I’ll still be taking a thousand calls a day, of course. People will find that I’m highly communicative and always on the go.”

Mike’s new role will see him target raising the profile of Tenn across all media channels. His plans include not just the content but also the style of Tenn’s communications.

“It is important that whatever goes out there is relevant, interesting, and specific to Tenn, and adds value to our partners. Not just generic, forgettable text.”

And as for the future – Mike is as plain-speaking as he is ambitious.

“The potential here is huge.”

Matt Watson, Tenn Capital CEO, said: “We are delighted that Mike is joining us at this critical time in our evolution.

“He was the standout candidate due to his extensive industry knowledge and contacts; I was especially impressed by his energy and desire to serve his clients.

“We have had a really strong start to the business and now we are looking to capitalise by significantly growing our distribution capability across the UK and internationally.

“We will be adding new members to this team early in the new year.”

Tenn Capital offers short term loans secured against residential property in the UK and Prime European Cities – we have a minimum loan of £1m with no upper cap. Rates are priced to risk and agreed on a case by case basis.
